Investigation of the Effect of Drill Bit Feature on Hole Surface Quality and Tool Wear

Drilling operations have an important role in manufacturing industries and the application range is about 33% among machining methods. In drilling processes, hole quality affected by workpiece material, parameters, drill diameter, bit features. this study, surface of wear were investigated experimentally when AISI 1040 steel Al7075 aluminum workpieces with twist drills. Three different types bits (polished, rolled TiN coated) diameters 8 mm 10 used for drilling. Hole roughness was at entry exit. While revealing change entry-exit, effect feature difference on has been tried to be determined. general, decreased increasing diameter both materials. The lowest values obtained use coated bits. Drill also measured it seen that increased diameter. least value observed
